The football World Cup in South Africa will be played in front of fewer than half of the expected number of foreign fans.
That's according to the governing body Fifa, which expects to make a marginal loss on the 2010 World Cup.
This is in contrast to the £178 million profit it made in the 2006 tournament year.
Availability of flights out of Europe to South Africa and crime seem to be the main reason for this.
Only two of the three million tickets available have been sold so far - most of these have been snapped up by South Africans.
Apparently footballs fans in Germany and England have been especially vocal about safety concerns in South Africa.
Scared about all the reports they hear about rapes, muggings, murders etc.
And fewer than half the numbers of foreign fans are coming - 450,000 - much less than the one million estimated back in 2002.
Is there anything South Africa can do to allay fears of foreigners not sure about flying to a country with one of the highest violent crime rates in the world?
