The incredible (alleged) TV murders

Brazil can be a bizarre place sometimes. Sometimes outlandish and twisted news happens in remote corners of Brazil and gets almost shrugged off in the mainstream press in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. But to the international media that same story suddenly becomes a major story. One such example is this:

The story has not received banner attention in Brazil until yesterday, when multiple international broadcasters picked it up. I am not sure why it hasn’t been a bigger deal here. Maybe because it allegedly happened in Manaus, a city in the far north of Brazil. Not sure really.
