In Berze, in northeast Damascus, a witness said around 400 protestors carried banners through the narrow streets of the Old City reading "Death or Freedom". 

"People of Homs we will support you” and; “The regime goes and the people stay."

"After what happened in Libya, we are calling on the Arab and international community to protect us," said Ammar, a 26-year-old protest organiser in Berze.  
"We are calling for a no fly zone over the country to prevent Russia and Iran sending weapons to the Assad regime. The world should use the same language with all countries. Qaddafi’s killings caused a big international reaction. On Syria we just hear words of condemning and denouncing but with no teeth to frighten the regime."
In Hajjar al-Aswad, a poor suburb to the south of Damascus, protestors also carried banners calling for a no fly zone over Syria, as this video appears to show:
